What changed
Did one final cron verification this morning around 9:30.
Everything is running where it should be.
The checks are happening on schedule, the comparison logic is working, and the alerting is doing what I want it to do.
No routine emails.
No weekly reassurance report.
No reason for me to keep logging into the original sources just to make sure nothing changed.
Calling this one fully deployed.
It’s funny looking back at the first version because that thing emailed me every time it breathed. Now the whole system is basically invisible unless something actually needs me.
That was the goal.
I’ve also started using the same general setup for monitoring tasks outside my own personal use, which is probably a good sign that the basic idea is solid.
Evidence
- Final cron verification completed around 9:30 AM.
- Scheduled checks are running normally.
- Change detection and alerting are functioning without routine reporting.
- Manual source checking is no longer required for normal operation.
- The same monitoring approach has started expanding into additional use cases.
